About
Six people, one spreadsheet at a time.
Ashgrove was started in 2016 by two analysts who kept being asked the same question by finance directors: “can you make this report trustworthy?”
Why we stay small
Large consultancies sell teams; we sell the same three or four people from first meeting to handover. Nobody on your project is learning your business from a slide deck written the night before.
We take on six to eight engagements a year. That is enough to stay independent of any single client, and few enough that the person who scoped the work is the person who does it.
What we are not
We do not resell software, we are not a systems integrator, and we do not run outsourced support desks. If your problem is a finance-system migration or a twenty-person data team, we will point you at people who do that well.
The team
- R. Halden
- reporting, financial models
- M. Okonjo
- pipelines, data quality
- J. Fairbairn
- forecasting, scenario work
- Support
- two analysts, one designer
Based in Leeds; we work on site across the north of England and remotely elsewhere in the UK.
How we got here
- 2016Founded by two analysts after a decade in manufacturing and retail finance teams.
- 2019First retainer clients; the review format we still use today was written that winter.
- 2022Pipelines became a service in their own right as clients moved off spreadsheets.
- 2024Six people; work split roughly evenly between reporting and forecasting.
